It is often said that 'time flies' and this statement seems very relevant to the A.D. Hewett Dental Practice in Douglas.
It is hard to believe that the Practice opened 10 years ago this month in January 2008. The opening the was the result of Alexia Hewett, an experienced Dentist from Yorkshire, moving to the Island and purchasing the established Dental Practice owned by Geoff Stobart.
The Practice was moved from its Woodbourne Road location to newly renovated premises in Bucks Road wth many New Patients joining the existing patients of the practice.
The Practice proved so popular that a second surgery was built after the first year of operation and patient numbers increased to form one of the busiest Practices on the Island.
But nothing lasts forever and at the end of 2017 Geoff Stobart decided to retire from the practice after 31 years practicing Dentistry on the Island. Both the staff and his many Patients joined together to wish Geoff a long and happy retirement.
The practice has been fortunate to recruit the services of equally experienced Dentist, Ian Wain.
Ian Qualified in Dentistry from Sheffield Dental School in 1984 and gained considerable experience at practices in the Leicester area, before moving to the Isle of Man in 1994. Since that time Ian has practiced in Ramsey, Onchan and latterly Douglas.
Ian lives permanently in the North of the Island and enjoys photography, country sports and travel.
Ian will take over those patients who were treated by Geoff and all future appointments will be automatically transferred by the practice.
When asked why the practice proves so popular, Practice Principal Alexia Hewett responds by saying that 'the philosophy of the practice has never changed. The practice delivers good clinical Dentistry at affordable prices by experienced Clinicians'.
New Patients will continue to be welcomed at the practice on either the pay as you go scheme where a New Patient exam with free clean costs just £44 or the Monthly Budgeting scheme administered by Denplan.
There are only a limited number of New Patient appointments available so don't miss your opportunity to join this Island success story.
New Patients can enrol and book a New Patient Exam or free Denplan assessment by telephoning 675748 or visiting the practice in person.
